What is Postive Health Coaching?
Positive health coaching is a dialogic style coaching blending “positive psychology” interventions with “lifestyle as medicine” to create constructive change in our lives.
It differs from life coaching in that the coach has expertise in “lifestyle as medicine” and “positive psychology” to facilitate goals chosen by the client.
In this case the coach has over 25 years’ experience as a healthcare professional. Typically a positive health coaching sessions lasts about 45 minutes, though the initially session can be up to an hour

What is the difference between coaching and counselling?
Coaching is future focused and does not dwell in the past except to consider the strengths that the client has used in the past which may be helpful in these future. while the coach meets the client where they exist in the present, the aim is to empower the client to make the changes they want to make in the future. What happens during a coaching session?
Coaching can occur face to face or via some other medium such as telephone, or video conferencing such as zoom. The coach and client agree some ground rules including duration of each session, confidentiality, format and pricing structure for the coaching. Then through the use of powerful questions, listening with all their senses and feeding back to the client what they have understood, the coach will guide the client to identify their goal, discuss how this can be broken down into bite size steps and achieved in a realistic timeline.
The client will agree to certain actions between sessions to move towards the chosen goal. The client will feedback to the coach at the end of each session what they found most useful to maximise the success of each session.
